Days 1 and 2: is your profile ready to be checked?
Every person you message will tap your name before they decide to answer. In Message Requests, your profile is your credibility. Fix it first.
- A real photo of your face, not a logo.
- A bio that says who you help and with what, in one line. "I help agencies book calls without cold email" beats "Founder | Dreamer | Builder".
- A link to something useful: your site or a booking page.
- 3 posts about the problems your buyers have. Short, opinionated, specific.
Then spend 20 minutes replying to posts in your niche. Replies are the strongest signal on Threads, and a history of real replies makes your account look like a person, because it is.
Days 2 and 3: where do you find clients on Threads?
There's no job-title filter on Threads (here's how to build a list anyway), so you find buyers by what they do in public. 3 sources work:
- 1Repliers. Find posts about the problem you solve. Everyone who replied, especially with their own struggle, raised their hand.
- 2Followers of niche accounts. Pick creators and brands your buyers follow. A 30,000-follower account that only posts about running an agency beats a 2 million generalist.
- 3Your own followers. They already chose to see your posts.
Collect 100 people. Next to each name, write one line: why they're on the list. "Replied that referrals dried up" is gold. If you can't write the line, drop the name.
This is exactly where we're stuck. Referrals dried up and I have no idea how to do outbound without it feeling spammy.
Days 3 to 10: how do you warm up before the DM?
A DM from a stranger lands in Message Requests. A DM from a name they saw in their notifications yesterday gets opened. So each day:
- Pick 15 to 20 people from your list.
- Like 1 to 3 of their recent posts.
- Leave one short, real reply on a post you have a thought about. No pitch, no link.
- Message the people you engaged with the day before.
That rhythm means every DM goes to someone who saw your name 24 hours earlier. It's also a natural pace, which matters because Meta caps message requests and doesn't publish the number.
What should your first Threads DM say?
Under 40 words (more openers here). A hook from them, one line of relevance, one easy question. No link, because links and media don't work in message requests anyway.
Hey Chloe, saw your reply about being stuck right after the first 10 clients. Is that mostly a lead problem or a time problem for you?
Hey Sam, saw the booking link in your bio for strategy calls. Are most of those coming from your posts, or from somewhere else?
Hi! I'm the founder of GrowthCo. We help coaches 3x revenue with our proven system. Open to a quick call this week?
If they follow you back after your warm-up, even better. Messages to followers skip Message Requests entirely and land in the main inbox, links and all.
Days 4 to 14: how do you turn a reply into a booked call?
Answer within the hour. People check Threads for minutes at a time, and a reply that waits until tomorrow usually goes cold.
Stay on their topic for one more message. Ask a follow-up question or share one useful thought. Then offer a small, specific next step.
Honestly both. I don't have time to chase leads and the ones I get are random.
Makes sense, most coaches we talk to say the same. If the right people came to you already booked, would that fix most of it? Happy to show you how, 15 minutes Thursday?
For people who go quiet, send 1 or 2 light follow-ups a few days apart, each with a new angle. Stop the moment they reply, and stop for good if they say no.
What numbers should you hit in 14 days?
- 100 people collected, each with a reason.
- 80 to 100 warmed up with likes and a reply.
- 70 to 90 DMs sent, about 8 to 12 a day.
- A reply rate you can compare per source: repliers, followers of niche accounts, your own followers.
- A handful of calls booked, and a clear idea which source produced them.
On day 14, look at replies and calls by source. Keep the source that booked, find 3 more like it, and drop the one that didn't. Then do it again with a fresh list, because replies from 2 weeks ago go stale fast.
Don't judge the plan on day 5. Threads replies come in bursts, when people open the app, and the first few days are mostly warm-up anyway. Expect more of your replies in the second week, once your name has shown up in enough notifications to feel familiar.
What mistakes stop Threads outreach from working?
- Messaging from an empty profile. They check, they leave.
- Skipping the warm-up and sending 50 cold requests in an hour.
- Pasting the same opener to everyone. Threads users are in each other's replies and compare notes.
- Pitching or asking for a call in the first message.
- Collecting from viral posts about everything instead of niche posts about your problem.
What it does on Threads, step by step.
Bazooka runs this plan every day, on ready-made Threads profiles we provide, each with its own IP and browser. It collects the followers of any profile and who it follows, everyone who replied to a post, and your own followers, and keeps where it found each one.
The AI writes each DM from their bio, link, audience and what they replied. Each lead gets a profile view with a like and a short comment on 1 to 3 posts, and the DM follows on a later day, at 15 to 25 profile views and 12 to 18 DMs a day per account. Replies are caught live, the AI closer answers in seconds and books the call, and the day-14 review happens continuously: sources and openers that book get more of the volume. Plans start at $497 a month.
Questions people ask
How do you get clients on Threads?
Make your profile credible, find buyers in the replies of niche posts and the followers of accounts they trust, like and reply to their posts, then send a short DM with one easy question and reply fast.
Do I need followers to get clients on Threads?
No. A clear profile and a few useful posts are enough to be credible. Most early clients come from conversations you start, not from your follower count.
How many DMs should I send on Threads a day?
Meta caps message requests without publishing the number, so stay modest: around 8 to 12 a day per account at the start, spread out, after engaging with each person.
Why aren't people answering my Threads DMs?
Usually because the message landed in Message Requests from a name they don't know, or it pitched too early. Warm up with likes and a real reply first, and lead with something they wrote.
Can I send a booking link in a Threads DM?
Not in a message request to someone who doesn't follow you, since links are disabled there. Send it once they reply and the conversation is in their main inbox.
